I'm a bit of a coffee fanatic and bought this little kettle so I can make a great cup of pour-over coffee using my chemex while traveling.Its looks good, solid construction and the built in thermometer works as it should. If it could hold 2 more ounces it would be perfect.There were some complaints in some reviews about water pouring out the spout when the water comes to a boil. This will only happen if the water comes to a boil too fast- basically the heat is too high. Set your heat at a lower temp and problem solved. It will take a little longer to boil, but you won't have water spewing out the neck.I use another electric kettle to bring the water to a boil faster- pour into kettle and let the hot plate maintain a temp for my pour-over.I'm definitely happy with my purchase, looking forward to my next road trip and an excellent cup of coffee!Beautiful product and very well crafted. The problem with this thing is that you MUST use low heat, so getting the water to boil will take time. If you try to hurry up the process the device will spit boiling water all over through the neck. The base is small so using an open flame stove is problematic as you might burn the handle.This little kettle is thick and well made, the thermometer works great and the wood handle never gets hot! The thin spout helps make the perfect cup of pour over coffee! We have not stopped using it everyday and we LOVE it!I love the look and feel of this kettle and it appeared to be well made. I was just confused by the description. Not sure if I can use it on the gas stove. Boil water to 200 degrees took around 7 minutes because I had to keep the fire low so it won't burn the wood handle.The kettle is small but it’s good for making teas for oneI liked the style and wood handle and size since I usually only pour 2 cups of pour over coffee at a time. However, when you fill it with more than 420ml (14oz) of water and boil, at around 75C (175F) the water starts spilling out of the gooseneck…at 90-95C (200F), so much water pours out that I initially had water all over the stove. Solution was to place a pot below the gooseneck to prevent water everywhere. Not ideal. Decided to return, and still looking for a better alternative product.It's so disappointing. The box showed clear signs of opening. It showed that it was re-taped. It was a kitchen towel that wrapped the thermometer, and there was a scratch on it. I definitely ordered a "NEW" and all of these marks show that it is "USED".It may be a perfectly wonderful kettle, but it doesn't work on induction as the listing states.
