I really like this machine so far. Was a bit worried at first based on some reviews but I think I have it figured out. First off, this comes delivered nicely packed. Nothing damaged. The machine looks nice and to me is just the right size. I got it set up in about 10 to 15 minutes. The glass door was tough to put on at first. The metal rod for the door had what looked like mishaped metal on the end of the rod. But after i rotated the door to a position all the way open then the metal rod slid into the hinges perfect. Maybe it is "keyed".. don't know but works now. The machine inside looks nice, is stainless steel. The metal pot had a couple small nicks in the surfacing but no big deal. Not sure if the ceiling is stainless steel..which in other brands of popcorn machines it is not and have been said to rust. If it does rust i will write back here and update this review. For now i just try to wipe down with paper towel after each use.Has a light bulb inside preinstalled which is nice. It has a lamp button and a heat/stir button on front. The popcorn I have been making tastes just like movie theater popcorn but you have to learn how to get it right. Will try to explain a bit more below.This thing is very easy to clean. The parts like the pot are easy to access and remove if you need to get even better access for cleaning. The glass door has a bit of a gap on right side.. apparently by design to let some steam out. But has magnet to keep it firmly closed. When the light is on, the bottom also remains heated to keep popped popcorn warm. Has a pull out tray where uncooked kernels collect. It seems to pop about 90 to 95% of kernels i put in. Getting the oil to kernels ratio is key to that.As for the popcorn.. you have to get the ratio of oil to popcorn right or the popcorn will be kind of tough and chewy. In general chewy means need more heat/oil. Start with the instructions in the book. And keeping trying batches and adding a bit more oil until it is right. I put the oil in first and turn heat button on and throw 4 kernels in. When those kernels pop then i know it's hot enough and i throw all the measured popcorn in. You might also consider taking a fork or something and popping the lid open once or twice to let some steam out during cooking. Have read it might help but not 100% sure. I use Louana coconut oil, Flavocal and Orville Redenbacher's Popping & Topping Buttery Flavored Oil and popcorn. Coconut oil at room temp is solid, so i don't think you can use the measure spoon to scoop the one scoop and be done ... You have to add more since when it melts it would be less space in the measuring spoon. Experiment until you get it right. The butter oil and Flavocal you can add a bit after you have popped the popcorn or mix with the oil you are cooking in the popper. When you get it right its just like theater popcorn. So far I am very happy with this machine.Remember the flavacol for seasoning and you'll movie theater popcorn.GrandkidsLove having nice Glass enclosures. Seems to be high quality.Just like the movies only better. You can adjust how salty or buttery you want it. We use the suggested popcorn packs but leave half of the seasoning out for less sodium. We even adjust the time before we add the kernels to the melted oil. Seems to be more tender sooner than later. Anyway…we’ve had this popcorn maker for 4 months and use it a few times a week. Love it!So fun to be able to make our own popcorn here at home! We had a movie night tonight and my daughter said it smelled like the movies!! We purchased all in one packs that make is super easy to make popcorn! Super easy to use - we don't have a base but have it on a tv tray and just move it to the counter when we are ready to use it. Quick clean up too!The assembly instructions seemed to vagueBought this for a school club. Worked amazingly well. Quick, quiet, easy to use. The magnet on the top of the interior makes adding oil / popcorn very simple. The kids all raved about the popcorn. Do yourself a favor and buy Flavacol to go with it.
